West Jakarta Sets Up Two Posts to Enforce Homecoming Ban

The government has announced to ban Eid al-Fitr homecoming since today until May 17 in an effort to suppress the Covid-19 virus transmission among its population. Especially in West Jakarta, two posts of homecoming ban have been set up since early morning on Jalan Daan Mogot and Joglo Raya, which borders Tangerang, Banten.

West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head Erwansyah expressed, until this noon, there were no buses or travel services that transported the travelers from the two posts location.

"This post is about to monitor buses and travels that carry travelers. We will check the documents in accordance with the requirements for homecoming, including the Covid-19 test certificate," he said, Thursday (5/6).

Homecoming Ban on Kelapa Island Keeps being Socialized

He explained if they did not show the required papers or documents, they could not continue the trip.

"We are on standby for 24 hours. Every day there are six officers in the field," he uttered.

Therefore he urged residents not to go on homecoming this year if there was no urgent business.

"So let's protect ourselves from the threat of COVID-19. Thus far there have been no offenders, as we are sure the residents understand," he stated.
